Sweet & Sour Cabbage

Sweet and sour, Ying and Yang, fire and water—all these things are core examples of duality in life. Yeah, that’s right—we’re sort of “zen” like that. And you can’t get more zen than an easy sweet and sour cabbage recipe. Well, unless you meditate or something.

Instructions

  1. In a small bow, melt 2 tbsp I Can't Believe It's Not Butter! Original spread. Then mix in soy sauce, rice vinegar, cornstarch, sugar, oyster sauce and sesame oil. Set aside.
  2. Heat a wok over medium heat. Once hot, add 1 tbsp I Can't Believe It's Not Butter! Original Spread. Then add garlic, ginger and red pepper flakes. Stir for a minute or two until fragrant.
  3. Add sauce until slightly thickened, about 2 minutes.
  4. Add chopped cabbage and stir for another minute until it begins to wilt, about 4 minutes.
  5. Serve with sesame seeds and cilantro.
If you’re feeling particularly artsy, try swapping out napa cabbage for some of the red variety. It’ll add a fun pop of color to this easy sweet and sour cabbage recipe. And it’ll be cute enough that you can post it on your Instagram! It might not get as many likes as slime videos or puppies eating watermelon, but that’s stiff competition, people.
